Kids Blankets

I do not have a picture yet but there will be one soon. I am a fool for crochet blankets for kids and babies. Now I am working on a polka dot one for my daughter. I am really impressed with myself since the idea came right out of my head. I am not the most creative so this is a big step for me. So I crocheted the dots seperately and was just going to add the background around it. Then I got the idea to make the blanket and attach the dots by sewing them on. I cannot wait till it is finished. I have a feeling it is going to be wonderful. Plus it is going to be kinda 3-D ish.

PMC OOPS!

Paper clay for a PMC core really stinks. I don't know what I'm doin wrong I haven't had a single success with it yet. So I'm throwin it in the trash. all my PMC peices I made with this method break and have huge pores. I do not suggest this method for a beginner. SO now what do I do with all this scrap silver?

Valuable PMC TIP!

I have been to the Milwaukee Bead and Button show and no one there that did PMC had heard or thought of using rubber polishing bits. I discovered this through trial and error. I purchased them on ebay really cheap. These bits almost eliminate the need for the polishing cloths and pickle. The rubber polishing bits get out fire scale,scuff and small scratches. I found they even work on my other precious metal items. It can leave behind a small amount of greasy residue but I just use a little jewelry cleaner and VOILA! CLEAN, fast,harmless and easy. No more scary expensive HARMFUL pickle yes there is a nontoxic pickle but it's pricey and unnecessary. I would suggest purchasing all different sizes and shapes and the do dissipate over time.

Super Baby Savings!

I just stumbled upon this great site that list some of the latest items super low prices.

The big scary Monster is calling me. Come and turn me on, plug me in fire me up, see what I can do for you. What's the matter little baby scared of the big bad fire monster. OK, so my hubby got me something I was dreaming of, a Paragon Firefly KILN!!!!! I got it for XMAS and there it was the 23rd of January and I still didn't start it. It came with all of these very intimidating manuals that I kept trying to read and didn't understand half of them. I procrastinated cuz I was just plain frightened by the thing. It was like the Xmas story "You'll shoot your eye out",only it was "You'll blow your house up!"

Snowflake Obsession

I started making crochet snowflakes 7 years ago. Well they didn't turn out very good. I was definitely an amature. Now I have had lots of pratice and quite a bit more experience. They turned out great this time. Since the snow started falling outside I could not stop the blizzard in my house. I think my husband was getting a little sick of seeing them all over the house drying from the starch. I have moved on to other projects but really impressed with myself for the speediness of this project plus how much fun it was to see the finished product.

Ok, WHo out there wants to see these back. I just started sewing and I never got a chance at Heather Ross's fabric line Lightning Bug and Other Mysteries. I've never seen anything like it. Now it's getting a little rediculous when sellers are selling them on ebay for over 20.00 a 1/2 yard. After your done making your item your resale value is so high the item will never sell. So let's bring it back Heather Ross PLEEAAAAASSSEEE!

Lacy look throw

I love to make things for my friends and family but I just can't seem to let go of this one. It is a throw size crocheted afghan made with a speckled cream colored yarn. The openness of the work kinda reminds me of lace.

Pointsettia Tablecloth

I started this tablecloth on a whim. It took 2 years of picking it up and putting it down. I ran out of crochet thread and couldn't find the same stuff anywhere. I finally went to a craft store and they were able to order it. Whew finally done. It is 6 sided and kinda could be said as 6-pointed star or pointsettia. One of my finest and favorite works.

CHALLENGE!! MINI TERRARIUM

I've been seeing all these neat lookin terrariums lately, so I'm posting a challenge. I want to see some of your ideas and directions on how you made them. I prefer to see recycled non toxic materials (NO THC PLEASE). The blogger with the best idea wins a........ It'll be good I promise I won't skimp.

Hand Carved River Rock

I shaped a setting in river rock and set a stone I recycled from an old necklace. I plan to turn it into a pendant.

My River Rock carvings

How I did this was I free hand carved a river rock with my demel using a stone carving bit, constantly spraying it with water. I then drilled a hole to set a cubic stone in the forehead. I have not figured out how I want to drill the hole to make it a pendant. Let me know wht you think please.

Storage Magazine

Here are some great organize ideas from Storage, I've tried a few and they really do work. You can get the little jars from Hobby Lobby for about .99 a piece. I've used these jars and I've also used baby food jars, spray painted the lids using metal paint and took my handy dandy label maker to them.

I'm a huge Fan of Better Homes and Gardens Magazines and these images came from Storage 2008. I plan to do something like this in the near future.
